Our History

Goode Stone Supplies has developed gradually over the last 50 years to become the leading supplier of Ironstone masonry products. Originally starting as a supplier of reclaimed stone, the company has seen it’s identity grow into the production and supply of all things building stone. We are a proud 3rd generation family business offering expert knowledge and the highest quality products. In 2025 our production company arm, Great Tew Stone Ltd took over the stone processing plant at Great Tew Quarry, enabling us to produce up to 1,000m² a week of building stone. Further cementing our capabilities to supply large residential and commercial projects.

Location

We are located on the old Brymbo works site in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire that saw quarried stone from the village transported via the trainline to Wrexham (Wales). We are also closely located to Great Tew Quarry, the only Ironstone quarry in the UK. Due to our closeness to the quarry, GSS has become the leading source of Ironstone masonry products within the UK for building, landscaping and architectural designs. We are renowned for our quality, experience and industry knowledge.

Flexibility

We are not limited to just Ironstone, as we are able to source a wide variety of natural stone materials including; Bath, Cotswold, Portland, Sandstone, York. From here, we can supply different finishes whether that be building stone, walling stone, flooring or masonry products. All types of projects from small carvings to large industrial sites are all carried out to the highest specification.

State of the art machinery

With the use of our six 5 axis CNC saws we are now able to process larger volumes of finished masonry. The saws, which work fully automatically are a great asset to the production line and allow us to run 24 hours 7 days a week, giving us accuracy to a zero tolerance finish when required. Thus enabling onsite masons to install our finished products quicker and more efficiently with the knowledge and confidence that all our stones are accurately finished. Our production arm company Great Tew Stone Ltd, runs with a further 5 Grani Roc wire saws and two automated cropping lines, designed for the large scale production of building stone.

Expert knowledge

Our experienced staff will come to site and colour match to ensure the best stone and finish is selected. We can offer a bespoke service for individual builds or standardised loads for ultimate convenience on bigger residential and commercial developments. In addition, if requested we can happily supply a stone sitemap for the installation team to follow for effective time management.
